Twenty Years Ago

Peace can come only with understanding.
And travel is an important means of acquiring it.

It is, however, only through the full consciousness
of "the essence of the human" that we shall be able to
open the difficult paths of international relationships.

As a traveller you have an excellent opportunity to serve
your country and the world in creating ties of friendship.

To you, therefore, we bring this message,
a message sparked with beauty all its own:

The Search For The Human.

I Cannot Tell You

The Way - cannot be told.
The Name - cannot be named.

The nameless is the Way of Heaven and Earth.
The named is Matrix of the Myriad Creatures.

Eliminate desire to find the Way.
Embrace desire to know the Creature.

The two are identical,
But differ in name as they arise.

Identical they are called mysterious,
Mystery on mystery, the gate of many secrets.

Tiempos

Las cosas materiales las dejaré contigo;

The Emperor & The Seed

An emperor was growing old, and knew it was time to choose his successor.
.
Instead of choosing one of his assistants or his children, he decided upon something different. He called young people in the kingdom together.
.
He said, "It is time for me to step down and choose the next emperor. I have decided to choose one of you."
.
The emperor continued, "I am going to give each one of you a seed today.
.
One very special seed.

I want you to plant the seed, water it and come back here after one year from today with what you have grown from this one seed.
.
I will then judge the plants that you bring, and choose the next emperor!"
.
One boy named Ling was there and he, like the others, received a seed.

He went home and excitedly told his mother the story. She helped him get a pot and planting soil, and he planted the seed and watered it carefully.
.
Every day he would water it and watch to see if it had grown.
.
After about three weeks, some of the other youths began to talk about their seeds and the plants that were beginning to grow.
.
Ling kept checking his seed, but nothing ever grew.
.
Another three weeks, four weeks, five weeks went by. Still nothing.
.
By now, others were talking about their plants but Ling didn't have a plant, and he felt like a failure.

Six months went by, still nothing in Ling's pot. He just knew he had killed his seed. Everyone else had trees and tall plants, but he had nothing. Ling didn't say anything to his friends, however. He just kept waiting for his seed to grow.
.
A year finally went by and all the youths of the kingdom brought their plants to the emperor for inspection.
.
Ling told his mother that he wasn't going to take an empty pot. But honest about what happened, Ling felt sick to his stomach; he took his empty pot to the palace.
.
When Ling arrived, he was amazed at the variety of plants grown by the other youths. They were beautiful in all shapes and sizes.

Ling put his empty pot on the floor and many of the other kinds laughed at him.
.
A few felt sorry for him and just said, "Hey nice try."
.
When the emperor arrived, he surveyed the room and greeted the young people.
.
Ling just tried to hide in the back.
.
"What great plants, trees and flowers you have grown," said the emperor.
.
"Today, one of you will be appointed the next emperor!"
.
The emperor spotted Ling at the back of the room with his empty pot. He ordered his guards to bring him to the front. Ling was terrified.
.
"The emperor knows I'm a failure! Maybe he will have me killed!"
.
When Ling got to the front, the Emperor asked his name.
.
"My name is Ling," he replied. All the kids were laughing and making fun of him.
.
The emperor asked everyone to quiet down and then announced to the crowd,
.
"Behold your new emperor! His name is Ling!"
.
Ling couldn't believe it.
.
Ling couldn't even grow his seed. How could he be the new emperor?
.
Then the emperor explained, "One year ago today, I gave everyone here a SEED.
.
I told you to take the seed, plant it, water it, and bring it back to me today.
.
But I gave you all boiled seeds, which would NOT grow.
.
All of you, except Ling, have brought me trees and plants and flowers.

When you found that the seed would not grow, you substituted another seed for the one I gave you.
.
Ling was the only one with the courage and honesty to bring me a pot with my seed in it.
.
Therefore, he is the one who will be the new emperor!"

Simplify

If we could abolish knowledge and wisdom,

Then people would profit a hundredfold;

If we could abolish duty and justice,

Then harmonious relationships would form;

If we could abolish artifice and profit,

Then waste and theft would disappear.

.

Yet such remedies treat only symptoms,

And so they are inadequate.

.

People need personal remedies:

Reveal your naked self and embrace your original nature;

Bind your self-interest and control your ambition;

Forget your habits and simplify your affairs.

The Little Cracked Pot

There was once a water bearer who had two large pots - one hung on each end of a pole which - she carried across the back of her neck.

One of the pots had a CRACK in it.

The other pot was PERFECT, and always delivered a full portion of water at the end of the long walk from the stream to the master’s house... while the cracked pot arrived only half full.

For a full two years this went on daily, with the bearer delivering only one and a half pots full of water to her master’s house.

The perfect pot was proud of its accomplishments, perfect to the end for which it was made.

On the other hand, the cracked pot was very ashamed of its imperfection, and was miserable that it could only do half of what it had been made to do.

Or so it thought.

The cracked pot, after two years of what it perceived to be a bitter failure, spoke to the water bearer one day by the stream.

“I am very ashamed of myself.”

“Why?” asked the water bearer.

“What are you ashamed of?”

“For the past two years, I have only been able to deliver half of my real capacity, simply because this crack in my side causes water to leak out all the way back to the master’s house."

"Because of my flaws, you have to do all of this work, but you don’t get the full value from your efforts,” the cracked pot explained.

The water bearer said, “As we return to the master’s house, I want you to notice the beautiful flowers along the path.”

As they went up the hill, the old cracked pot did notice the sun shining on the beautiful wild flowers growing along its side of the path, and this cheered it some.

However, at the end of the trail, it still felt bad because it had again leaked out half its load, and so it apologised to the water bearer for its failure.

The water bearer asked the pot, “Did you notice that there were flowers only on your side of the path, but not on the other pot’s side?”

“That’s because I have always known about your cracked nature, so I planted flower seeds on your side of the path for the return trip."

"And every day while we walk back from the stream, YOU watered them.”

“For over two years, I have been able to pick these beautiful flowers to decorate my master’s table."

"If you are not the way you are, he wouldn’t have the flowers for his house."

Seek and You Shall Not Find

When someone is seeking. . .

it happens quite easily that
.
he only sees the thing that he is seeking;

that he is unable to find anything,

unable to absorb anything,

because he is only thinking of the thing he is seeking,

because he has a goal,

because he is obsessed with his goal.

Seeking means: to have a goal;

To Infinity & Beyond!

Masters can and often are known to cross over into other dimensions of Time and Space when they no longer are needed here on this third dimension.

By definition, they have conquered all of the lessons that a third dimensional planet can teach as a “schoolroom of life.”

These lessons include the understanding and mastering of... unconditional love; patience; kindness; forbearance; temperance; spiritual discrimination; proper government; tolerance; practising the silence of meditation; the transmutation of all personal Karmic debts; the ability to materialise any material object from the universal ethers and the ability to heal with the mind or with a single touch to void the pain of another sentient being.

Their humility is true and rarely will they say,

“I am a Master.”

They are servants to all.

Heptachord During Eating

There are many exercises related to eating.

One of them involves being aware of one's physical sensations while eating.

Be aware of these designated points on the face and body:

1. Eyes while looking at food as it is lifted towards the mouth.

2. Nose while smelling food before putting it in the mouth.

3. Mouth while chewing food.

4. Throat while swallowing food.

5. Chest while food descends.

6. Solar Plexus while food arrives in stomach.

7. Navel when the meal is finished.

Breathe into the navel and sense the energy radiating to the extremities.
