Not The Wind, Not The Flag

Two monks debated about a flag waving in the wind.

One monk says: "The flag moves."

The other says: "The wind moves."

Dajian Huineng, hearing the conversation, says:

"It is not the wind that moves.
It is not the flag that moves.
It is your mind that moves."

We Are Life

Labour is blossoming or dancing where
.
The body is not bruised to pleasure soul.
.
Nor beauty born out of its own despair,
.
Nor blear-eyed wisdom out of midnight oil.
.
O chestnut-tree, great-rooted blossomer,
.
Are you the leaf, the blossom or the bole?
.
O body swayed to music, O brightening glance,
.
How can we know the dancer from the dance?

those who could not hear the music.

Got It? Drop It!

All the great masters say this, that one day you have to drop the method.
.
And the sooner you drop it, the better.
.
The moment you attain, the moment awareness is released in you, immediately drop the method.

I would feel more optimistic about a bright future for man if he spent less time proving he can outwit nature and more time tasting her sweetness and respecting her seniority.
